Dear colleagues,
Although i am a relatively newly appointed English teacher i feel as if i have years of teaching left behind. And trust me, this is not good as i do not feel more experienced, but mere tired, i should say. Is it that the schools i have been appointed to are tough to teach? I do not know.

Today we had a seminar on the importance of groupwork in class. And i honestly felt so miserable about my teaching that i feel i do not have the strength to work for the years to come. Sounds awful, ha?

It is funny, though, because the trainer noticed that teachers do not relax and do not enjoy their role in class and, that was part of the problem why teachers are distant to students. Why does he say that? We kept asking. Is it possible to relax? When you have to show learners the way to knowledge, transmit knowledge, follow curricula and, let us not forget, teach social skills and contribute to their emotional balancing, i do not think i can relax. Some of you may relax but not me. I chose this job because i had dreams to help and now i feel i am doing harm only to myself.

I concluded to this; seeking help in seminars removed joy of the profession. I felt useless. Therefore, i decided i should keep myself away a bit. I mean, away from seminars. And yes, i do know that if you share your feelings then tense drops and, either find solutions or it becomes easier. Of course, i do know that something good might come out of seminars but, honestly, i do not feel like participating in any coming seminar.

I do not expect any 'sympathy' by writing this. It was just a suffocating thought at about 10.30p.m.

Goodnight!
