EPAFI is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of Teaching English as a Foreign Language at all levels of instruction (primary, secondary and university level).

2008, European Year of Intercultural Dialogue: conversing/discussing with languages-cultures, 12 -14 December 2008

Conference Call for papers

The Department of Linguistics and Language Didactics and the Language Didactics Laboratory of the School of French Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are organizing an International Conference from 12 to 14 December 2008 on:
2008, European Year of Intercultural Dialogue: conversing/discussing with languages-cultures

Invited speakers :Martine Abdallah-Pretceille, Université Paris 8, Ana Maria Gimeno-Sanz, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Monica Heller, University of Toronto, Henry Boyer, Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier III, Mike Byram, Durham University , Claude Springer, Université de Provence

Thematic axes that will constitute an incentive for an exchange of views among participants are the following:
Inter/pluri-culturalism, plurilingualism, otherness and Language Didactics
Linguistic diversity and learning/teaching of languages-cultures
Teaching practices via the contribution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)

for the development/cultivation of inter/pluri-cultural conscience

Official languages: Greek, French and English.
Interested participants are invited to submit the title and abstract of their paper in two languages of the Conference (300-350 words and a maximum of 5 keywords) by filling the online form on the Conference website.

Deadline of submission of abstracts: 31/5/2008. Notification of acceptance: 30/9/2008 The publication of the proceedings will follow. Early registration fee, up to 30/9/2008, of non-student participants is 100€ (30€ for students), while late registration is 120€ (50€ for students) respectively after this date.
