Students and teachers stage one more rally over reforms

Rallies by students protesting university reforms are expected to cause traffic disruptions, Kathimerini reported yesterday. The atmosphere is not as highly charged as it was this time last year but students managed to stage sit-ins at a few faculties. At a faculty in Hania, Crete, students broke into the hall where rector elections were being held and disrupted the proceedings, according to this report.

I found this indicates the paradox of the way the Greek University reform is perceived by many. It seems there was nothing but the traffic disruptions that were worth highlighting. Nothing was said about disruption of democracy and violating the rights of those who wish to vote. Deciding for whom to cast your vote is one thing but preventing people from voting? How can anyone benefit from this?
